COALINGA, Calif. (June 29, 2010) -- Top

stand there for the 2011 breeding season.

at Old English Rancho in Sanger, CA.
Unusual Heat set the all time California
record for progeny earnings in 2008 with over $5.8 million, was again the
California Earnings champion for 2009 and is currently the leading sire in
California in 2010 as well as the third leading turf sire in North America.
Unusual Heat is the sire of 27 stakes winners and 15 other stakes-placed
runners, including seven graded stakes winners (three Grade I winners), one
Group I stakes winner and seven additional graded stakes placed runners. Current
standout runners include Grade I winners The Usual Q.T., Acclamation and Grade
II winner Pretty Unusual.
“I am delighted to announce that
Unusual Heat will stand at Harris Farms for the
2011 Breeding Season and hopefully for the remainder of his breeding career,”
said Madeline Auerbach. “I wish to thank Buddy Johnston and all of the people at
Old English Rancho for a tremendous 12-year run. I appreciate all of their
dedication and hard work that contributed to the success of
Unusual Heat and his
progeny. At the same time, I look forward to our new partnership with John
Harris, Dave McGlothlin and the entire team at Harris Farms.”
Harris Farms will not only be the new home of
Unusual Heat, but also of the
California based breeding and broodmare operation for both Madeline Auerbach and
long time partner-trainer Barry Abrams. Notable broodmares of the partners
moving to Harris Farms include stakes producers Lethal Leta, Bel Air Belle,
Little Hottie, Style of The Year and True Melody.
Harris Farms is a California institution in thoroughbred breeding, racing and
