John Scott Takes I'm Smokin Stakes

John Scott circled the field and got up to win Monday’s $100,000 I’m Smokin Stakes for California-bred and California-sired 2-year-olds at Del Mar.

John Scott is by Bertrando, out of the Deputy Minister mare Henlopen, was bred by owners Harris Farms and Scott Gross, was foaled at Harris Farms and is trained by Carla Gaines.

John Scott ran the six furlongs in 1:10.26 and won by three-quarters and increased his earnings to $90,600.
